Kuala Lumpur - Jalan Ampang

Responsibilities:

Leads a shift in the Engineering Department operations re: work orders, requests from room guests, etc. Trouble shoots on any electrical fault, tracing to the source and rectifies immediately. Discusses with colleagues on any pertinent Engineering issue and is part of the team. Performs all electrical and chargeman duties ensuring systems and procedures done comply with policies and accepted practices. Is well versed with various other trades like plumbing, air-conditioning, audio visual, facilities, equipment, etc within Engineering Department operations. Is flexible to attend to items requiring rectification in guest rooms, public area and/or function rooms. Is required to work well with Housekeeping, Front Office and Security staff, solving problems immediately.

Requirements:

Candidates should preferably have a A0 to A1 Chargeman Competency Certificate with ability for registration with Suruhanjaya Tenaga. Those who have passed the examination but has yet to register with Suruhanjaya Tenaga can also be considered. At least several years' experience in electrical field for those who have just passed the A exam but not registered yet. For those with the Chargeman Competency Certificate, must have at least 1 year's experience, preferably in the hotel and resort industry handling work in a high rise building environment. Familiar with requirements of air-conditioning, fire and CCTV, audio visual, electrical and related systems, etc. Has good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, verbal and written. Those who can speak Chinese and/or Mandarin would be given preference. Able to work shifts including overnight shift and work on public holidays and Sundays. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Highly committed and responsible working fast to clear work orders / requests from other departments, etc.
